Summer berry gathering is an important subsistence activity for many Indigenous people for nutrition, health, and wellness.Ā While berry picking, it is common to run into these tiny little worms ā berry guardians - Ā that curl up and hang off branches. These earrings reflect the shape of these little beings that hang outĀ in the blueberry bushes.
These earringsĀ represent some of the basic elements of Northwest Coast Formline design. MadeĀ of alder wood with vinyl surface for color, sterling silver ear wires (hypo-allergenic), silicone nuts to prevent them from slipping off, and bagged for protection.
AboutĀ 1½ā long and come in white, teal, and yellow.
The Formline design used in Northwest Coast art evolved over 4,000 years and has been acclaimed throughout the world as a uniquely distinct form of design and aesthetics.
